South - South West NSW Bus Driver of the Year announced

Veolia Transdev's bus business in NSW is pleased to congratulate John Spurgin on receiving this year’s NSW bus Driver of the Year award.

The Driver of the Year Award gave customers the chance to nominate their favourite bus driver.

Nominations were open for three weeks covering drivers operating in the Bankstown, Taren Point, Menai, Revesby, Villawood and Leightonfield regions.

John Spurgin, this year’s winner of the NSW award, said “The most rewarding part of this process is knowing that my customers have taken the time and effort to vote for me. I believe it’s the small things that make a difference, even saying hello to your passengers can really help to improve their day and mine. I cannot thank all the people that voted enough – it really means a lot”.

Everyone that submitted a nomination went into the draw to win one of 10 double movie passes. Winners of the movie passes have been notified by phone.

Overall the NSW awards attracted close to 200 nominations. The Driver of the Year award forms part of Veolia Transdev’s overall customer service program which is aimed at continuous improvement in our level of customer service. This is also supported through ongoing training and other initiatives.
